ARC - Lifeguard

Highlands Recreation provides safety courses for the community in collaboration with the American Red Cross. The courses available include Lifeguarding and Lifeguarding Recertification. To successfully complete the course and receive certification, candidates must meet the following requirements: a minimum age of 15 years by the final day of the program, completion of the online portion, active participation in all scheduled training sessions, and successful performance in all course practical and the written examination.

ARC - Lifeguard

ARC - LG Review Course (Must be a CURRENT Lifeguard) - The course is designed for current ARC Lifeguards or Lifeguards within the 30-day grace period. Pre-Competitive
Pre-Competitive Group is an introduction to competitive swimming for swimmers interested in developing the skills needed to join our competitive team, the Highlands Dolphins Aquatic Club. Pre-Competitive swimmers will learn the basics of being part of competitive swimming such as technical and endurance training, start, turn, intro to interval sets, circle swimming, and understanding competitive workouts. Youth Swim Lesson-Group
Level 1: Introduction to Water Skills: Students will learn how to feel comfortable in the water and safely enjoy it. Level 2: Fundamentals of Aquatic Skills: Children will learn basic swimming skills. Level 3: Stroke Development: Additional guided practice will help students improve their skills. Level 4: Stroke Improvement: Kids will gain confidence during swim lessons, improve their stroke and gain additional aquatic skills. Level 5: Stroke Refinement: Guidance allows kids to refine their strokes and become more efficient swimmers. Level 6: Swimming and Skill Proficiency: Students will learn to swim with ease and efficiency, and gain the ability to swim smoothly over greater distances.
