  Swing into Skyhawks Beginning Golf, powered by Payne Stewart Golf Experiences. This beginning program focuses on fun and repetition with a games-based approach that can be played on any surface. Specialized equipment is used to ensure early success for young players. Key skills like putting and chipping are taught through engaging activities. • Bucket Drumming
  Bucket Drumming is a high-energy, interactive music class that transforms ordinary buckets into vibrant percussion instruments, sparking a love for rhythm and creativity. Designed especially for students in Grades K–8, this program invites young musicians to explore basic drumming techniques and rhythmic patterns in an unconventional, fun-filled setting. In this class, participants will learn to harness the power of sound by experimenting with different striking techniques, dynamic volumes, and creative beat patterns. Through engaging call-and-response exercises and lively group drumming sessions, students not only enhance their coordination and timing but also build strong teamwork and self-expression skills.   Join Chess Wizards this semester for tons of challenging chess lessons, exciting games, and cool prizes. You'll improve your chess skills and work out your most powerful muscle - your brain!! Our classes are geared to suit children of all skill levels; from chessling to checkmate artist, students will build upon their knowledge through lessons, variation games and more! • Children's Martial Arts
  Give your kids a head start with a program designed specifically for them. Physical fitness and self-defense skills are presented as fun games and activities. • Codebreakers: Spy Games
  Step into the covert world of espionage where students transform into code-breaking detectives, using sharp critical thinking, pattern recognition, and basic programming skills to unravel secret messages and crack challenging puzzles. In this immersive program, students master the art of encryption and decryption by exploring classic cipher techniques—like substitution and transposition—while uncovering secrets from both historical spies and modern code-makers. They'll enhance their skills in spotting hidden patterns and applying logical reasoning to unravel mysteries, and even design their own ciphers to challenge their classmates. • Competitive Math
  Our program equips students with the problem-solving skills and confidence needed to excel in this international competition. Through engaging lessons, students strengthen number sense, logical reasoning, geometry, and pattern recognition while practicing real Math Kangaroo-style questions and strategies. Each class includes guided examples, timed challenges, and take-home practice to reinforce learning. As students progress, we introduce early algebraic thinking - such as variables, simple equations, and balancing expressions to help them tackle multi-step problems with clarity. • Dance
  This course introduces students to the fundamentals of dance, exploring a variety of styles such as ballet, jazz, hip-hop, and contemporary. Students will learn basic techniques, choreography, and the importance of rhythm, flexibility, and expression in movement. Through guided practice and creative exploration, participants will develop their physical coordination, self-confidence, and an appreciation for dance as an art form. • Highlands Theater
  Last year we told a tale as old as time, but now it’s time to follow the yellow brick road… to center stage! Join this year’s theater production of the Wizard of Oz, where you’ll explore drama, music, movement, and all the wonders Oz has to offer. Students will learn to act, sing, and dance, all while having fun. *Mandatory parent meeting Monday, January 12, at 5:00pm in the Highlands Elementary School’s MPR* Open to grades 1 – 5 only Rehearsals are Monday, Tuesday, and Thursday, January 12 – April 24, from 2:40 - 4:30pm *Wednesday practice for main characters is 12:20pm – 2:30pm No rehearsal on January 19, February 16, March 30, March 31, April 1, April 2, April 6.   Want to master the secrets of the universe? Create a volcanic eruption to rival Pompeii? Pass secret messages to your friends in invisible ink? Learn how to do these and much, much more! Junior Alchemists is designed to not only pique an interest in scientific inquiry, but to introduce students to a deeper understanding of the world around them Students engage in hands-on activities such as creating lava lamps, engineering a fully functional race car and Ferris Wheel, levitating a ping pong ball, and constructing a Newton's Cradle. Through experiments like this, they learn scientific concepts like physical and chemical reactions, potential and kinetic energy, as well as acids and bases. Each experiment offers a dynamic opportunity for students to explore and comprehend fundamental principles in a interactive and engaging learning environment. • Magic in Motion
  Step into a world of wonder with our Magic in Motion workshop!. In this interactive class, students will uncover the secrets behind age-appropriate magic tricks using safe, everyday objects. Over the course of the program, they’ll master a variety of illusions—from simple card and coin tricks, to sleight-of-hand maneuvers with scarves and rope. Kids will learn how to make small objects vanish and reappear, perform a delightful disappearing handkerchief trick, and even create the illusion of a floating pencil. Each session is packed with hands-on practice, guided demonstrations, and fun challenges that encourage creativity and boost confidence.   Bring your game ideas to life in Roblox! We'll guide you through the lifecycle of game development; you'll sketch out an idea, design your game, and complete a finished product! You'll use the Lua programming language to create in Roblox's 3D studio while mastering real-world programming concepts. Whether you're completely new to coding or a designmaster, Roblox's game design engine offers some incredibly fun challenges. We offer a unique and collaborative approach to programming and game design that will allow kids to develop their creativity while fostering an interest in practical skills.
